This takes me back to what Denys said about HP launching an ad campaign. It
will have to be an effort to raise HP's visibility, not just the 3000s, so
that anything HP is probably going to be good, even the 3000... Now, were
they to give the 3000 good press, the way IBM gets good press for the
AS/400, even having one Malcolm Haines as their "AS/400 Marketing Chief
Propagandist" (from IBM's "Harness the Power" mailing, see also
http://lisug.org/haines.htm), that could get some mindshare. Having built
medical equipment, where reboots are less acceptable, could give one a
reputation for quality and reliability.

I am amazed that almost no one calls the AS/400 'proprietary', which it is,
and almost no one, present company excepted, calls the 3000 'open', which it
is... Did you know that Apache has been ported to the AS/400?
