Glenn explained benefits of CVS.

I can second that. The cvs import and merging feature have been a great
help, for example, when rolling my Samba-2/iX "quick and dirty" prototype
on Jazz from 2.0.3 to 2.0.4b and to 2.0.5a later on. Both moves did not
need any source code adjustments. Just the configure script had to be re-
built by running the MPE-ish version of GNU autoconf.

It turned out, though, that the 2.0.5a version would compile and link OK,
but fail at runtime because the Oz sources had added some access to user
password information via getpwnam() and pw_passwd or somesuch (which is
not initialized/used on MPE/iX). With a small source code tweak (quick and
dirty again), the abort could be "patched away" then.

Find the details in the cvs repository on Jazz (either by checking out
the sources to get a local copy, or by browsing the cvs web interface).

Lars.

PS: I have not yet visited the Interex cvs site, but wonder if Samba-2
or Apache (or Apache JServ) would also be "candidates for living there".
