If you have MPEX from VESoft, then you can use its %DEVCONTROL command:

   %DEVCONTROL 7;ONLINE

If you surf to Allegro's website (http://www.allegro.com/software/), there
is a FREE program called ONLINE which will do the same. The nice thing
about ONLINE is that it waits for AVR before returning to the user, which
MPEX's DEVCONTROL command doesn't do.
