if you already have installed Samba/iX you can find the needed info as html in
/SAMBA/PUB/html/smbd.conf.man.html
and a lot of other useful documents.

Additionally connect to http://www.sambaix.com and http://www.samba.org
Especially the documentation of smb.conf will answer your questions.

Is there a document defining all of the possible settings for a samba share
and what they each mean?  Seems the smb.conf file resembles a .ini file of
windows.  But without knowing the possible settings it is hard to configure
a share appropriately.
