Hmmm... Time to bring in one of my old friends.... AutoRestart/iX !

This peace of software allows to perform memory dumps into a dedicated,
pre-configured fileset, with no operator intervention. Since AutoRestart/iX
is a dump-to-disk facility, it is substantially faster than the standard
dump-to-tape, and it also can reboot the box automatically. You can cut the
time to perform a memory dump at least by half. Or more.

AutoRestart/iX belongs to the High Availability HP suite of tools. Another
advantage is that the dumpfileset is immediately readable with datprog.
Unlike the standard dump-to-tape format, it does not need to be restored to
disk.

AutoRestart/iX is a standard HP product (HP36375A).

Hope that helps.
