HP's AutoRestart/iX product has a good dump-to-disk feature. It requires
that you pre-build an empty file to contain a dump (the software helps you
size the filea according to your user/job load), but it will revert to a
tape dump (or not) if you so choose. I highly recommend it.

Actually Robert, we keep trying to get a dump created but due to the high
uptime that we need on our box, we haven't had the ability to cut the tape
without having to cut deeply into morning production. We have so many jobs
that run over night that we need them to complete before we can effectively
do production during the day. We are looking at ways of creating the dump
on
disk so that it we can cut that time. We aborted the dump process last
night
after 2 hours.

Martin
The message from the Error Manual is
1458 MESSAGE A critical process is being terminated due to a trap.
I would send the memory dump off to be analyzed.
