Hi Gilles :)
   You are correct... the upgrade for the product was free.... and as the letter
from HP pointed out ( I got it back around '94 I think?) the cost to upgrade
after the 'Special Free Upgrade' expired would more than equal the software
support upgrade costs!

   IIRC, my 957 would have cost quite a few thousands of dollars to buy
IMAGE/SQL if I hadn't taken the free upgrade... but the software support
increases only cost that site about $5,000 for the next few years (we figured we
would be using it within 3 years :) )
