DISKUSE wildcards

I tried
DISKUSE /PROD/???/[17-21]/
and got
Character class wildcard improperly used. (CIERR 946)

But HELP DISKUSE says "Wildcarding is permitted."
HELP CIERR946 says
Can't find anything under this command or in table of contents.

We are on 55p6. It looks some wildcarding is permitted, and I can see where
this could be a problem with HFS directories. OTOH, this would sure be
convenient, so I can size archival STOREs without pasting DISKUSE output
into Excel.
