If you have a device class DISC, try doing the MPEX ALTFILE again, but say
;DEV=DISC.

When I do a LISTF ,4 (from within MPEX), all files in .OUT.HPSPOOL show as
being in the device class DISC, that's why I'm suggesting it.

Good luck.

Subject: Need Spooler Help

I was using MPEX to move some files around, and without too much
thought, went ahead and used ALTFILE @.out.hpspool;DEV=3.

The files are still there and they are on device 3, but the spooler no
longer knows anything about them. They don't appear on showout and
cannot be accessed with spoolf. But they are still there.

I tried doing a copy (Copy Onnn.out.hpspool,*outfile) but that did not
work at all. Ended up with a write error message and a short
abbreviated file with a few characters in it. Is there any slick way to
recover these files?
