I was incredulous that anyone would voluntarily miss the event. I still am. [...]38_16Jul199920:14: [log in to unmask] |

Geiserville technology? My good ol' Gateway Pentium 120 ran just
fine for almost three years until it died (just prior to leaving for
IPROF) leading to my current Compaq using an AMD K6/2 that runs at
330 Mhz under Windows 2000 Professional... otherwise, I would
probably still be using my Gateway :)

That, and the fact that Windows 2000 Pro (which is in essence, NT 5.0
Workstation, which is slated to be out rather soon) runs circles
around Win 9x (but still has some of the NT limitations on hardware,
but the list has decreased dramatically). Knowing the people here,
not everyone will run out and get Win2K the day it ships, and I would
check the Hardware Compatibility List on the Microsoft site for
Windows 2000 before buying.

Joe
