Hi Jon ([log in to unmask]),

As you can see, the "what version of MPE am I on" is still a
continuing unresolved problem.... a problem that need not exist!

Hmm...perhaps something you can think about before HP WORLD, so we
can have an announcement then?

How about a change so that SHOWME reports:

> RELEASE: C.55.00 MPE/iX HP31900 5.5 PP8+ USER VERSION: C.55.00
or:
> RELEASE: C.55.00 MPE/iX HP31900 5.5 ER7 USER VERSION: C.55.00
                                    ^^^^^^^^
instead of:

> RELEASE: C.55.00 MPE/iX HP31900 C.05.08 USER VERSION: C.55.00

("PP8" would mean "PowerPatch 8")
("ER7" would mean "Express Release 7")

The "PPn" or "ERn" would be followed by a "+" if any other patches
existed (as in the first example), otherwise a blank.
