I need to add additional disk space to my existing HP 3000's, 959-200 and 979-400. I have in the past been very satisfied with the 4.3 GB half height drives. Plus you can get 8 of these per HASS (Jamaica bay). However, I now need to add additional drives and am running extremely low on cabinet space. It has been suggested that I add 9 GB or 18 GB drives to save on cabinet space.

Can anyone recommend what capacity and brand disk drives are reliable and supportable by H.P.

In addition, does anyone have any experience expanding cabinet space by merely placing the new HASS (Jamaica bay) on top of an existing cabinet? Any problems with this?

And I will probably end up with 9 and 10 drives per I/O card. I know the maximum recommended is 7 to 8, but does anyone think there will be an issue with this on a development system?

Thanks.

Mike
