hi all -- i think we're finally getting to the point of
replacing our big 2567 printers (and our smaller 2564 ones
too) and i'm considering lpq printers. i'm wondering what
the collective opinion of these printers are. going thru
the archives, i'm seeing alot of complaining about these
printers -- terms of printing to them over the network
(instead of direct-connect). am i right in thinking the
*real* issue is with mpe network printing? or are the
printer problematic all on their own? are they reliable?
do they work well under duress and abuse (like us :-)? do
they work 'better' going thru an external jet direct box?

...and since it's getting to be that time of the year,
donning my sysman hat.... what's the collective opinion
about mpe network printing? it is being worked on, i
know...but are there still significant issues needing
attention? as i understand it, pjl/plr is (still) not
support, right? what about this new(?) np configuration
option that says (something like) 'act like a real serial
printer'? is it wonderful? close but no cigar? terrible?
anything else? - d
