A very technical question which bases on the processor type the K460 has,
here a PA8000.

If the PA8000 (180Mhz) processor is also supported by MPE (or vice versa)
then a upgrade / downgrade (!?) kit can be bought by HP which basically
consists in a CE changing the SPU by SS_CONFIG tool so that the processor
knows: "No I have to run MPE mode".

Additionally you need to order the MPE license exchanging the Unix license
you already have.

Now you can install the OS assuming that all other H/W parts already
plugged in are MPE compatible and installable later on.

Performance is like for the pedant in the MPE world depending on the
processor's type.

The exact answer should be given by your HP contact - I know only what will
happen if a customer will ask for this (I asked the other way round).

Best regards, Andreas Schmidt, CSC, Germany

Subject: FW: Converting 9000 to 3000

My system's manager has asked that I pose the following the question to the
list. Seems we have a PHB that requested this data so we must go about and
gather it.
Thanks in advance,
Max...
