All,

We need help in resolving a telnet connection problem with our HP 3000
918lx system, we have contacted HP and the costs for HP service are
prhibitive for our needs. This means we need to find a service organization
(other than HP) who can provide an onsite service call for the above
mentioned system installed in Houston, Texas (I-10 Energy Corridor).

This machine is used for development of terminal emulation software for
PC's, WBT and CE devices, and currently the system is running using Open
View on a windows 3.1 (486) machine and although the users can ping the IP
we can not telent to the sytem. When a telnet conection is attempted, the
user recieves a conection refused DTC 10 unavailable message. Do to the
extreme lack of technical documentaiton for this machine, our ITS department
has been unable to resolve the problem.

The system has been restarted several times, and even restored using a
backup tape. The trigger to this event seems to have been a building wide
power failure prior to the problem occuring. If anyone has any suggestions
or can be of assistance please feel free to email me.
