Here is a Quad version, and ditto on Fred's caveat.

build tempa;rec=-125,10,F,ASCII
build tempb;rec=-125,10,F,ASCII
fcopy from=filaA;to=tempB   { 100 byte recs }
fcopy from=fileB;to=tempB   {  25 byte recs }
QUAD
/t tempA;c1," 25 spaces ",a
/blend <tempB> all
/k;e

The COLCopy command can then be used to
juggle columns around.
