Hi Jan,

The long term goal is to have both an Intranet for in-house users (this
will support a multitude of various applications) and Internet access for
customers to pay their bill, look up history information and things like
that (real-time). We are also looking into telephone systems that will
allow the customer to call up and get billing/history information.

The Intranet will most likely be on an NT platform (I'm 99.9% sure) but
the Internet access doesn't necessarily have to be.

This is a water utility company. We have a small IT department. My IT
manager is uncomfortable with the current multi-platform environment,
specifically the HP3000, and would prefer to move everything toward an NT
environment but since all of the financial systems are on the HP, he has
decided that for the short term we (I) can develop a test Internet
assessable application on the HP to show what can be done (sort of a demo
for the Board of Directors, I think). Now you know as well as I do that
when you do things like this it generally turns out that the "test"
application becomes "the" application so I want to do it right and make
the HP shine and show it's best qualities. So any help is greatly
appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeanne
