Just a few notes to add to what has already been said in other messages...

Newer laserjets (4000 and up, or maybe series 5 and up) do have some of
the same problems - at least in our experience at UTC.  Older (LJ4 and
earlier) laserjets work very fine.

FWIW, the PJL enhacements even caught HP's jetadmin software for Unix,
etc. A somewhat recent revision was necessary to fix problems with
unexpected PJL that caused reprinting from the start (over and over and
over without end).:-)

Note: Use of Cobol LINAGE will cause these CCTL codes to be used.
