Make sure both are configured for the same flow control:  XON/XOFF, CTR/CTS, &c.

Has anyone ever had a Monarch printer talk to a 3000.  I'm trying both
serial and network and I can't get the printer to tell the 3000 to stop
sending data.  The printer prints 50 or so labels and then gets data overrun
errors and the 3000 keeps right on sending the data.

Any help in this area might save a mind.
