Ok.... I have Samba up and running on the 3000, can log on as guest user
to the Sambadocs share, but having problems with logging on as a valid
user.
We have files in the MGR.DUMPLIST,APR group. I have that set in the
smb.conf file as follows
226
227 [dumplist]
228
229 comment = monthly dumplist files
230 guest ok = no
231 write ok = yes
232 username = mgr.dumplist
233
234 path = /DUMPLIST/APR
235
/
I'm able to map the network drive (pc is running NT4.0) and log in as
user dumplist. This is possible since I mapped the user in the user.map
file (with password as a ',')
lars.appel = lappel
mgr.samba = samba
mgr.dumplist = dumplist
All is fine in the Windows Explorer. The files appear but when I go to
access one, the system spits back access is denied.
I've tried every possible combination (execpt of course the one that
works) to give me the proper access. There are no passwords on the
MGR.DUMPLIST,APR
Any ideas??
Thanks in advance
