An evening of spirituals presented by the Chattanooga Choral Society for
the Preservation of African-American Song, under the direction of UTC
Professor Roland Carter, will be held Monday,June 28 at 7:30 p.m.
The concert will be held in the Roland Hayes Concert Hall on the
UTC campus and will feature well-known arrangements of spirituals by Hall
Johnson, William L. Dawson and Roland Carter. The choir will also perform
selections from Scott Joplin's Treemonisha, George Gershwin's Porgy and
Bess and Sacred Concert by Duke Ellington.
This concert is presented by the Southeast Center for Education in
the Arts. It is free and open to the public. For information call
