Hi Lance,
If you use one of the software time emulator packages you can safely test your
Y2K code in parallel in separate test accounts on your production system. You
need
to have the extra disc space, but disc is cheap these days.

Of course I would recommend Beyond Y2K's package RAT (Regression Analysis
Tools) as they are designed for Y2K testing in your environment. You will get:

1. Complete methodology on Y2K testing and certification.
2. Record/Playback facility for your VPLUS applications
3. Trace facility to aid debugging and to find differences in path flow and
results
4. Complete tracing of IMAGE intrinsics, and some MPE and VPLUS intrinsics.
5. Ability to run VPLUS in batch so that you can capture and compare screen
output.
6. Aging of data for IMAGE databases, files and scripts.
7. Stack markers of your intrinsic calls
8. Ability to set the system date without changing the actual system date.

All of the above can be downloaded free for 30 days while you try out the
features and
set up your test accounts. After that the introductory price of $3000 for the
first CPU
and $300 for each additional CPU applies.

The downloads can be found on the web page for Beyond Y2K:
