Have not used account limits, but have used group limits (mainly file
space) and they do work. The file space is only for those files in the permanent
domain. If you try to exceed your limit you will be told that you cannot perform
the save operation (account out of disc space message). From my limited testing
files in the posix namespace seem to count against this limit. Note that
directories take space also. Hope this helps some.

Subject: account limits

we're thinking about using account limits on our production
machine and so i've got some questions....

 - it does still work, yes? i'm rather under the impression
that most folks don't use account limits...
 - do temporary files (file yadayada...;temp :-) 'count'
against your account's limit?
 - and so what does happen if you try to exceed your
account's limit?
 - what about hfs files? how do they figure in?
 - have i forgotten anything? :-) - d
