Looking for some suggestions on how to do error checking on a multijob stream (i.e., Job a streams b, streams c, ad nauseam).
What I want to do is parse the stdlists for error messages in Powerhouse and MPE using a command like
Printo #jobnum; search="CIERR" or "*E" or....;context=+3,-3 > output.group
to give me a listing of problems in the job stream and where to start. Would attach output.group to an email and send to whoever's responsible for the job so that they can fix the problem. Can't use the HP for mail 'cause of some local IS issues, so I've got to send the file to a PC to mail.
Can do this with one job by simply using printo. Where I'm getting into a little complexity, is doing it w/ a series of jobs. I'd like to hear what anyone else has done w/ this before I reinvent the wheel.
I've looked at some of the sites mentioned in this list-server (such as Denkor's or Adrian Partidges paper on checking of batch jobs on adager.com), but am still a bit of a newbie and uncertain of how to apply some of the stuff I've seen to this problem.
TIA for your help.
Bob
