What gives me trouble is using "random mode" on the CD player while
playing a well-loved CD for which I previously owned the LP or
cassette - it just doesn't feel right when the tracks aren't played
sequentially! Here I am, grooving to track 3, but when track 4 isn't
next, it's like a little time warp, maybe an inverse deja vu. I
eventually get over it after a month or so of playing the CD in random
mode, but the feeling still tends to creep back up on me every now and
then.
