And yes,  in the TurboIMAGE/XL Datbase Management System Reference Manual, on
page 5-60 under the DBOPEN section, I did see the note that says :

        Note : The base ID cannot be passed between processes in an attempt
        to reduce number of required DBOPEN calls.
