I forwarded this to some of our Oracle DBAs, one of whom asked for more
information, and assured me that they were compliant on 7.3.2. In trying to
find this, I visited the Oracle site
http://www.oracle.com/year2000/2000/white2000.pdf. We had downloaded this
PDF white paper V4.1.0.0.15 dated November 2, 1998 on March 16th. This
document listed Oracle7 Enterprise Edition 7.1.X and > as FULLY COMPLIANT.
However, this site now has V4.1.0.0.16 dated March 12, 1999, the current
document now lists Oracle7 Enterprise Edition 7.3.4 and >, and no longer has
a 'Compliance' column.
Someone buy this man a cigar. Richard, I believe you are on to something
here. It might be fun to see this little revision mentioned in the trade
press, if things are as they appear.

Subject: rumor: Oracle Y2K issue prior to 7.3.4?
On another mailing list, I read that at the IOUG-A Oracle user's meeting,
there was a confirmation from Oracle that DBMS versions before 7.3.4 have a
Y2K issue and are not compliant. While I don't like to spread rumor, this
seemed important enough to HP 3000 users of Oracle that I'm passing it along
without further confirmation.
