FYI: It appears on my systems that this was part of PowerPatch 4.

Subject: Perl/iX _getenv_libc solution

If Perl/iX dies with an unresolved external reference to _getenv_libc on
your
5.5 machines, you need to install patch LBCJXT6A.

This patch is already built-in to 6.0 where I build Perl, and was installed
a long time ago on my 5.5 machine where I test Perl before doing a public
release. Thus I had never seen this problem until Charles Finley mentioned
it.

The Perl/iX home page has just been updated to note this prerequisite for
5.5
machines.
