UTC PLACES 73 STUDENT-ATHLETES ON SPRING DEAN’S LIST
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.---This spring, 73 Chattanooga student-athletes earned a
spot on
UTC’s Dean’s List for this past semester, the Athletics Department
announced Wednesday.
The women’s tennis team and the soccer team led UTC’s 16 sports programs.
All eight
members of the women’s tennis team made the list, which is comprised of
students who have a
grade point average of 3.2 and above. Thirteen of the 21 members of the
soccer team were also on
the Dean’s List.
“We are extremely proud of the academic performance of the
student-athletes in our
program,” said UTC Director of Athletics Oval Jaynes. “It shows their
dedication, not only to
their athletic endeavors, but their commitment to their studies as well.
We sincerely congratulate
all of them on their accomplishments.”
Eighteen student-athletes posted perfect 4.0 grade point averages for the
Spring semester,
including four from the Southern Conference regular-season champion
softball team.
The report also listed 24 student-athletes who were on the Athletic
Director’s Honor Roll
with a GPA of 3.0 to 3.199. Topping the AD’s Honor Roll were seven
football players and four
golfers.
