Dr. Dana Wertenberger and the School of Nursing has received continuing
support from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for its
graduate students.
A $60,571 award will support Professonal Nurse traineeships for UTC's graduate
nursing students. These traineeships provide financial support to cover
tuition, books, and other expenses for students who will work in advanced
practice in underserved areas of Tennessee and the surrounding
southern states.
Graduates are expected to function as clinical
specialists, family nurse practitioners, or nurse anesthetists in
predominantly rural health care settings, as faculty in schools of nursing,
or as mid-level administrators in health care organizations.
Congratulations to Dr. Wertenberger and the School of Nursing faculty for
obtaining this support for their students.
