UTC WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER MAKES ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAM
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.---Chattanooga women’s tennis player Daniela Greco was
named a GTE Academic Second-Team All-District IV selection, it was
announced Thursday.
Greco is a junior who has a cumulative grade point average of 4.0 in
Psychology. She is a
three-time member of UTC’s Dean’s List.
The Zurich, Switzerland, native was a member of the Lady Mocs’ 1998 Southern
Conference runnerup squad. In 1999, she was the squad’s most consistent
player, boasting a 16-7
overall record at No. 2 singles, and led UTC to the semifinals of the
conference tournament.
The District IV teams are made up of student-athletes from Division I
schools in Alabama,
Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee.
To be nominated, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve
and carry a
cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher. Team members are selected by a vote of
members of the
College Sports Information Directors of America within the district. The
teams consist of
student-athletes from the spring sports of crew, golf, lacrosse, tennis and
indoor/outdoor track.
UTC men’s tennis player Ivan Poullaos was named to the District’s Second-Team
Monday.
