Yes, Apache is the server which will be shipped on a PowerPatch of 6.0. An
Alpha (but very usable) release of 1.3.3 can be found at
http://jazz.external.hp.com/

Only the most widely used web server used today, followed by Microsoft's
Internet Information Server based on the latest statistics from 1998, I
believe compiled by DataQuest.

Apache will not work with ODBC - it uses CGI scripting (executables or Perl
scripts) to do its database work. ODBC can be used with Cold Fusion and
other web application servers, but these servers have not yet been ported to
run under MPE.

Absolutely not, but I'm not going to start beating the drum just now, as it
could go on for pages. Rest assured that your HP3000's can operate in the
Internet arena, in the E-Commerce arena and still run your mission critical
operations that it's been running for the last 25+ years.

Pulling data from a 3000, "sneakernetting" it to another machine, is
early-80s technology. It's always best to get it from the source :)

Sometimes, for security or performance reasons, data is made available
elsewhere, separate from the source. I just wanted to add that before
someone else does. MPE users are a conservative lot for the most part and
it's now, that they are starting to go after the technology that Unix users
have had for years, that's also available under MPE.
