We don't run much Transact code any longer, but I do remember that
Transact/iX had very useful debugging and test facilities which were a big
help to me numerous times in my programming days. If you don't use them,
now, I recommend a look in the Transact/iX Reference Manual.

Subject: Odd behavior in Transact

Hello all,

I'm running 5.5 pp4 (got the pp6 tape, but not installed it yet). I was
wondering if anyone else has noticed some strange behavior with
Transact. In the last two days, I've noticed problems with Match and
with Output(chain) while doing a perform.

Both of these should have worked fine, but I was either not getting the
records that should have matched, (I removed the matches and in the
perform statement I manually checked for the match values and all was
well) or two fields that held total numbers were changed to a different
value before they were displayed. (I ended up changing the
output(chain) statement to a find(chain) and on the perform statement I
took the Format statement and put it in as a Display statement and all
worked fine). The problems were fixed easily enough, it is just that
the other way should have worked as well. Anyone else experiencing
problems like this?
