Nope.  Strictly, solely, and only a marketing decision on HP's part.

Nope.  AFAIK (and I've tested many), all PA-RISC systems are Y2K "compliant".
(Note: the oldest I remember testing is either 3000/920 or /922 or /935)

I don't recall HP every saying that any PA-RISC system wasn't Y2K compliant...
they *did*, however, say that they didn't *test* older systems (e.g., systems
that would no longer be supported by 2000-01-01) ... thereby causing needless
worry for many customers.
