When you buy a copy of MPE (or for that matter most, if not all, commercial
software), you are purchasing a license to "use" that product under the terms
of the agreement from the manufacturer.  Usually you right to "resell" the
product are restricted, which may preclude you from being able to sell it at
all.  You don't "own" the software.  The manufacturer does.
