an extra 64MB of RAM for $100 (ouch, when did RAM get expensive again
:-),

>I'm not even close to a *real* computer-old-timer, but even *I* can
remember 1MB SIMMs costing $100 each. The prospect of purchasing 64MB
for only $100 >even if that *is* up from only $70 or so) still blows me
away.

One of our users was looking up prices for memory for his Toshiba Tecra
700 laptop yesterday. He found an old (circa 12/95) press release from
Kingston still on their web page. It showed the list price for a 64MB
module at > $2500. And this was only 3 years ago! It's amazing how
accessible computers have now become because of aggressive price cuts.
Heck, even my grandmother has her own computer. Of course, this means
I run my own help desk every night. I was considering getting my own
900 number (hehehe).
