Howdy,

 01-001-CNTL-RANT-PARA.
So I finally get back from the shop floor where the dreaded y2k bug has
raised
it's ugly head in PRODUCTION. And after *I* had said production was
cool
with the possible exception of some Quiz junk we would deal with on an
as needed basis. They were right, the report was wrong as could be
when
it came to dates beyond 20000. Got new compiled source listings,
heated
up the debugger and had all ready to chase down the shop calendar
dragon.
The report does not list the options that were given at runtime, and
it's
interactively run, so off I hike to get the gory details. After
watching and
carefully noting the input parameters I returned to my desk and
reported
to management that if the user types insisted on entering 1900 instead
of
2000 then truly we had a problem. GO TO 01-010-MO-IDIOCY.

 01-010-MO-IDIOCY.
So the suggestion was that to avoid the year 2000 problem, that
everyone
get together and agree that there would be no year 2000. We would all
just go straight to the year 2001. GO TO 01-020-GOOD-GRIEF.

 01-020-GOOD-GRIEF.

* this one has some touchy content and I am not up for starting flame wars
of
* any kind. Nor interested in starting a thread, nor even a comment. But
there
* it was, real world and put out on the table.
*
The foundation of the year 2000 problems which we face were started by
the Jews.

    STOP RUN.

Jim - i'm not ready for the rest of this year - T.
