The March, 1999, issue of "The 3000 Newswire" contains the following quote
from Kristy Ward, of HP's SSD, during the IPROF Management Roundtable:
"... we will provide a free upgrade to Y2K-compliant versions of our
software if they were purchased within the last three years,
regardless of whether they're on support or not."
This was in response to a question posed re: availability of free upgrades
for HP 3000 users such as were provided to HP-UX system users.

To the best of my knowledge any customer nor on support has had to pay for
any upgrade. No customer I have worked with has
received free software.
