another option: install MS Mail for those users, let them download their
eMails into MS Mail (on their PC), and shut down the HP3000 installation
(but keep the TDP files in TDPDATA.HPOFFICE group ...)
After this they can easily read their eMails stored on the PC (although
there is no server behind any longer).

I'm in the same situation, by the way ...

Best regards, Andreas Schmidt, CSC, Germany

Subject: HPDesk help

I have a problem. As a company, we migrated from HPDesk to Lotus Notes
over a year ago. We had several HPDesk users left locally who said they
needed more time to migrate their files. So, they were told that they had
until the end of 1998. Well, that came and they still said 'not ready'. A
message went out this week saying HPDesk would be deleted from the system
as of 03/31/99. The main dissenting user (my supervisor) says he can't do
it yet. He wants to be able to start and stop HPDesk when he needs it from
now on. We no longer pay support for HPDesk.
Also, something has been disabled somehow and we are unable to delete user
by user. We were just planning on purging the whole account. We need the
disk space.
I want to know if his files can be stored to disk or tape, and if so, will
they be usable? I've searched HP ESC but can't find an answer. Thanks in
advance for your responses and suggestions.
