There has been some testing on the Empire machine. There have been quite
a number of users getting hung up on TELNET.
It has been discovered by the game's designer, Ben Norton that if you
append termtype 13 to the HELLO command, your TELNET session will not get
hung up (or as often, fate to be determined by more testing.)
The SYNTAX to use termtype when logging on to Empire at 198.190.228.6 is:
HELLO yourname,PLAYER.EMPIRE;TERM=13
This should be a benefit to those who only have TELNET that comes with
Windows/95 as their terminal emulator. (P.S. Ignore the two blobs when
using W/95 Telnet, they are only DC1 and LF.)
Example:
HP3000/922:HELLO TRACY,PLAYER.EMPIRE;TERM=13
