Privaleged files that RoadRunner creates

Can anyone help me?
RoadRunner creates a privileged file when using your own file for a date
file like so -

>partial to *bk
>datefile mydate

(the date file holds the dates of the last full & partial backup, etc.)
When trying to purge in MPE

COMET: purge mydate
PRIVILEGED FILE VIOLATION  (FSERR 45)
Unable to purge file "MYDATE.SHIRL.DEVELOP". (CIERR 384)

Does anyone know how to purge this file? I tried to purge within RoadRunner
as well, similar results.
All help is appreciated. Thank you.
