There are some fascinating things happening with auctions on the
Internet.
Look at http://www.ebay.com/ for an example of this - but beware, it's a
real time soak.....
I searched for HP3000, but found none on the block (I guess they're too
valuable :)), but I see lot's of HP stuff.

Thanks Wirt. But I think that's where I went first.

The VPLUS manual is in under MPE/iX 5.0, but not under 5.5 or 6.0?
There are references to additional VPLUS (Y2k) functionality and an
additional VPLUS utility in the 5.5 and/or 6.0 Communicators?

And the 128 limit is clearly documented under 5.0

Trouble is, nothing tells my colleague that he only dreamt he created a
screen with more than 128 fields on it, or what sort of cheese he'd been
eating to provoke this dream.

But many thanks to *all* who replied. Monday morning, I'll hook him in
thru DejaNews and say 'contradict *that* many gurus, if you dare' :-)

Oh lordy, yes. Another colleague needed to use Suprtool the other day,
couldn't find all he needed in the online help, nobody could find him
any dead tree manuals. So, off to Robelle's website, download the docs
in Windows Help format. Peruse 'em and use 'em.

A service like that, unthinkable just a few years ago, makes you realise
that the Internet will change the world, and that the vast majority of
its current shortcomings are just teething troubles, and *will* be
overcome.
