If you're interested, the library has recently received "The Silk Road"
series of films made jointly by Japanese and Chinese television companies
in 1979-1980. They are wonderful -- you just have to get past the silly
70s-esque background music -- and show parts of China that are rarely seen
by Westerners. Here is the complete series, in order:
TITLE Glories of ancient Chang-an CALL NO Videorecording 3981
TITLE A thousand kilometers beyond the Yellow River CALL NO Videorecording
3982
TITLE The art-gallery in the desert CALL NO Videorecording 3983

Sincerely,
Kristin
