The Office of Higher Education Programs  of the U.S. Dept. of Education
invites interested individuals to serve as peer reviewers to evaluate  GEAR
UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs).
Through early college preparation and awareness activities this program
will give low-income students the skills, inspiration, and preparation
needed to pursue postsecondary education.

Being a peer reviewer offers a good view of the Department of Education and
its programs from the inside and to get an idea of how grant programs are
funded.   It also offers the individual an excellent opportunity for
professional development.

If you are interested in being a peer reviewer for GEAR UP, please send a
two-page resume' to the Office of Grants and Program Review by campus mail,
by fax (x4052), or by email attachment.
