Dr. Nick Honerkamp has recently received a grant for $1,720 from
Ross/Fowler to conduct a cultural resources overview of a proposed
extension of the Tennessee Riverpark.  The purpose of this resources
overview is three-fold.  Dr. Honerkamp will 1) identify the existing
recorded archaeological resources within the project impact area; 2)
estimate the potential for unrecorded archaeological sites in the vicinity;
and 3) discuss historic land uses, cultural sensitiity factors, and
interpretive possibilities to aid in the conceptual planning of the
proposed walkway extension.
