Any thought to perhaps allowing 'checkpoints' in a long transaction?  (I know
certain other DBMS's allow this, but not sure if this would help here...)  I'd
be pretty certain that since a arbitrarily 'large' txn now can cause a txn
stall, that any existing code would likely be unaffected, and it would only be
via maintenance or new development that a relaxing of the limits would be of
much benefit.
