I hear you on this -- the thing is that there is a case for going overlay,
and there is a case for going geographical - and both cases are hated by
everyone. Since ya can't please everyone, get a toll-free number that
routes to your office, and publish it. For example, if my area code changes
(it's not, we're getting overlaid... and no snickers because I just realized
what I just typed!), my toll-free number stays the same --- (877)
945-8100... the toll number is (215) 945-8100. Rather simple really.
Of course, my friends from across the big pond would have a bit of trouble
getting through, but then again, an e-mail blast with the new area code
would take care of that :)
BTW: 215 will be overlaid with 267, and 610 gets overlaid with 484. This
ought to be rather exciting. I guess I better order my additional fax lines
before June 5, eh? :)
Have a great weekend all.
