Got this heads up from one of our customers;

He got a note from his HP SE (or equiv rep) stating that HPDesk was not y2k
compliant and was not going to be made y2k compliant.

Now though I knew of at least one patch made to HPDesk's user interface to
correct a y2k problem (the program apparently completely failed to run after
12/31/1999), I hadn't heard of this.

Trying to be diligent, I checked HP's own y2k database on their website. Sure
enough, search for "HPDESK" (it isn't listed under OpenDesk btw) and you find
the "Product Compliance Status" report that lists the following

Note that there are also listings for the various native-language versions
of Desk which I recall HP stated will no longer be enhanced. All of those list
the same status.

**Is this true? Has the rug been pulled from HPDesk when noone was looking?
  At least one of our customers got this message from their official HP rep.
  If this is correct, then I suspect alot of sites need to be informed of this
  right away.

On a positive note; the HPDesk training course is compliant. Bet they'll be
selling alot of those in the next 10 months huh?
