I can only say that my NT server runs MS-Exchange and it still doesn't take
all day to come down. When I do bring it down, it is always a scheduled
event and I shut the Exchange-related services beforehand. This makes for
a speedier shutdown.
I never ran MS-Exchange on Novell, so I can't help you in that comparison.
(I wasn't even aware that MS-Exchange ran on Novell, but if you say so, I
must believe you.)
Kind regards,
Denys. . .

Like I replied to Denys, the HP3000 wasn't the issue. It is NT on an HP
Netserver that takes time. It has 8GB disc, more than 128MB RAM and runs
M$-Exchange. My network person was comparing it with the ease of Novell.
