Do you have any idea why your HP 3000 takes half a day to start and a full
day to shutdown? My HP 3000/917 takes about 7 minutes to come up and about
3 minutes to come down. It takes that long to come up because it spends an
inordinate amount of time checking the memory (64MB). I suspect you have
gobs of memory on your system.

BTW, My Windows NT server takes about 3 minutes to come up, but up to 15
minutes to come down. My NT laptop comes up in about 2-3 minutes and shuts
down in about 1-2 minutes.

Kind regards,

Denys. . .

"Why would we want a Network O/S on the HP3000 that takes half a day to
start and all day to shut down?" - A quote from my network person.

"What are we going to do tonight, Brain?"

"The same thing we do every night Pinky, try to start Windows NT."
